The Care Team:

Joseph Spada, LPN

Management: Joseph Spada, L.P.N., founder, is a geriatric nurse with an extensive background and expertise in long-term care. For over 24 years he has been delivering primary care, having started in geriatric nursing at the University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland. Over time he served in several other departments, such as orthopedics and rehabilitation, until finally settling in the emergency room as an ER tech/nurse. In Seattle he worked at Foss Home where he provided rehabilitation care and nursing assistance to the elderly prior to starting Spada Homes in 1990. More recently he has tutored nursing students for North Seattle Community College and serves as President for the Sno-King Adult Family Home Association. He teaches Community First Aid & CPR, and First Aid in the Workplace as a Red Cross instructor.

Mr. Spada manages and supervises all the care.

Staff: We employ only nursing assistants registered or certified (NA-C or NA-R) who are caring and mature to provide residents with 24/7, round-the-clock care. At a minimum, all our caregivers receive a criminal background check prior to starting (repeated every 2 years), and all are qualified with:

• First aid
• CPR
• Fundamentals of Caregiving
• Nurse Delegation
• Food handling permit
• Tuberculosis testing
• AIDS/HIV & infection control training
• Ten hours of continuing education each year

Additionally, every staff is fully trained on-site to meet the specific needs of your loved one.

Gale Wald, RN

Gale wald has been a Registered Nurse for many years and has had a long career at Northwest Hospital in Seattle. She now works has an independent nurse consultant.
Gale does most of our resident assessments, provides nurse delegation to our staff, and covers for other nursing care needs as necessary.
Gale ads to Spada Homes' overall level of quality care by bringing professional nursing services and consulting.

Kidist Reta , NA-R (Registered)

Kidist is very familiar to the AFH environment and has completed all the DSHS required training. She has been working at Spada Homes as a resident manager since August of 2007, and we are thrilled to have her on our team.

Siobhan Laula, NA-C (Certified)

Siobhan (pron. 'Shavan') is a Certified Nursing Assistant and comes to us from the nursing home environment where her routine care load was between 9 to 14 residents! Siobhan is sharp and knowledgeable in her capacity and we are thrilled to have her on our team.

Tadalech Bizuneh, NA-C (Certified)

Tadalech (Teddy) has worked at Spada Homes since 2002 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, mostly night shift. She also works in assisted living facilities. Additional qualifications include Dementia & Mental Health specialty training.
Teddy is part of Spada Homes' back bone of quality care.

Inez Alvarez, NA-R

Inez is Spada Homes' most senior staff and holds a record of impeccable attendence since 1998! I believe Inez as missed zero days of scheduled work! Needless to say I am very greatful to have Inez on our team and value her commitment and dedication. I look forward to many more years of working together.
Inez works the weekend shift (and some nights) at our Alicia Park location.

Eugenia Miclea, NA-R

Eugenia (Ginny) has worked for Spada Homes since 2004 and is our resident manager at the Alicia Park location. Besides the qualifications mentionned above, Ginny completed the Dementia and Mental health specialty training.
Ginny is an excellent caregiver and an amayzing cook... everyone loves her healthy receipies that are abundant in fresh and natural ingredients. Ginny has a great library of "grand mother says..." healing recepies. And they work!
We consider Ginny to be a great asset to Spada Homes and one of our key staff.
